The advisory vote on the subject of card rooms was a clear and unambiguous “yes”. Approximately 60%-40% in favor. It was an outright rejection of ordinance 2323 passed by the city council last February. THAT is very unusual.
As soon as the election is certified, new policy will be proposed. There were a number of options proposed to the council earlier in the year but never really got serious consideration. Now that the residents have spoken, the council will be reviewing those and other possibilities with the new understanding that they have a mandate.
